Shuang Qi
Shuang Qi is a communication sciences and disorders PhD student at UT Dallas. Before entering UT Dallas, she obtained her bachelor of engineering degree in biomedical engineering in 2016 and master of science degree in biophysics in 2019 at Capital Medical University, China. She started learning audiology in her junior year (2015). During the 4 years’ school learning and training, she mastered basic knowledge and clinical skills in audiology as well as completed different research projects related to topics like the speech performance of adults with frequency lowering hearing aids and speech development of young children with cochlear implants. Based on previous experiences, now she has much interests in exploring the magic power of hearing assistive technology on aural rehabilitation.
Stephanie Tittle
Stephanie Tittle is a fourth-year doctor of audiology student completing her externship at Arkansas Children’s Hospital. Additionally, she is the President of the National Student Academy of Audiology for 2020-21.
Nina Kao
Nina Tz-Ching Kao is a fourth-year doctor of audiology student and will be completing her externship at Baylor Scott & White Medical Center in Temple Texas.
David Tolstyka
David Tolstyka is a fourth-year student who will be completing his externship at the ENT Associates of East Texas. In his free time, he avidly enjoys rock climbing and has served on the board of the Texas Academy of Audiology’s Student Liaison for UT Dallas.
Audrey Harris
Audrey Harris is a current third-year audiology doctoral student at UTD. Prior to entering the AuD program, Audrey graduated with a bachelor of arts degree in communication sciences & disorders from Baylor University, with an emphasis in American Sign Language. Her current research interests include assistive technology, cochlear implants, and vestibular assessment in the pediatric population. She hopes to pursue a career working solely with the pediatric population and to continue gaining knowledge on assistive technology and how it benefits children.
Audrey is an active member of the UTD Chapter of the Student Academy of Audiology, and has interests in humanitarian events, as well as state and national advocacy for audiology.
Kortney Bush
Kortney Bush is a second-year student in the audiology program at UTD! Kortney has a background in communication sciences and disorders and psychology. She is interested in educational audiology and how to improve experiences with accommodations in schools among persons with hearing loss. Kortney serves as the Vice President on SAA board (UTD chapter) for 2020-2021.
Rebekah Havens
Rebekah is a second-year doctor of audiology student at UTD. She earned a bachelors of science in speech, language, and hearing sciences from Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center. She has been involved with the Hearing Health Lab since her first semester at UT Dallas and has contributed to the Smartphone-Based Open Research Platform for Hearing Improvement study. She is currently involved in the Education Committee for the Student Academy of Audiology and serves as the student liaison for the American Board of Audiology. She also serves as the student liaison for the Texas Academy of Audiology. Rebekah has a background in research on bimodal users, specifically temporal and spectral integration of consonants. She is interested in assistive technology, auditory processing disorder, and hearing conservation.
Chi Tran
Chi Tran is a second-year doctor of audiology student. She earned a bachelor’s degree in speech-pathology and audiology from UT Dallas. Chi is an active member of SAA UTD chapter and serves as the 2020-2021 Treasurer.
Allison Woodford
Allison is a second-year doctor of audiology student at UTD. She earned a bachelor of science in speech and hearing science from the University of Utah. She has professional and life experience working with children and is looking forward to participating in the Hearing Health Lab’s research looking at the impact of auditory rhythm training on speech and language development in children. Allison is happiest in the mountains, on a run, or playing with her family.
Emma Freeman
Emma Freeman is currently a first-year doctor of audiology student at UT Dallas. She graduated with a BS in speech-language pathology and audiology from UTD. Her current clinical and research interests include pediatrics, assistive listening devices, and auditory (re)habilitation. With her involvement in the Hearing Health Lab, Emma has co-presented a lab station at the ASHA Convention called “Managing Wireless Technology: A Hands-On Experience,” as well as, the poster presentation “Testing Hearing Thresholds using Smartphone-Based App” for the UTD STAR Research Presentations.
Kitrie Howell
Kitrie Howell is currently a first-year graduate student in the doctor of audiology program at UT Dallas. She recently graduated from Stephen F. Austin with her bachelors of science for pre-audiology. She has interests in pediatric audiology.
