2012 NLW Activities Draw Crowds
McDermott Library’s 2012 National Library Week celebration was a great success, thanks to plenty of student and community participation. Events during the week included a kick-off party with cake and library giveaways; a photo session for library users to star in their own "READ" posters; and a “Show the Library Some Love” event in the student union, which included student testimonials about the library, prizes and treats. The week was capped by a symposium co-sponsored by the library and the Center for Values in Medicine, Science and Technology. In all, more than 500 library friends and supporters attended the various festivities.
Dr. Kevin C. Elliott, Department of Philosophy, University of South Carolina, gave one of the keynote presentations at the Center for Values Symposium co-sponsored by the Library as part of National Library Week.
Cake Was The Thing!
