Homecoming 5K on November 12
Join us at Residence Hall West (RHW) on November 12
for the Homecoming 5K run! Check in online or on the night of the race between 7:00-7:45 p.m.
The race itself begins at 8:00 p.m. The first 225 runners will
receive a free Dri-Fit t-shirt, and all competitors are welcome to snacks and water
after the race, while supplies last.

Mammograms on Campus, November 14
Call 214.645.2560 or 866.277.0710 to schedule a mammogram
with the UT Southwestern Mobile Mammography Unit when comes to UT Dallas on November 14.
The Mobile Mammography Unit will be performing mammograms from 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.
by the north side of the Activity Center (AB) on Drive A. These appointments are available to all UTD faculty,
staff, and their spouses. Please have your health insurance information ready when you call.
Remember to bring your photo ID and health insurance card to your appointment.
The results of your mammogram will be sent to your home in a pink envelope.

Free Flu Shots for Employees on October 30-31
Online registration for the free UT Dallas 2014 Flu Shot Clinic is open. Please take a moment to review the information and schedule in the
clinic flier (PDF [Portable Document Format File] , 179KB) and sign up for an appointment online.
Once registered, you will receive a confirmation email message with a link for you to download and print the required consent form.
Please fill out and bring the completed consent form with you to the flu shot clinic, along with your insurance card, Comet Card, and driver’s license.
Dental Hygiene Lunch-and-Learn on October 23
Join the UT Dallas Wellness Committee on October 23, 2014 from noon to 1:00 p.m. in the Student Union Galaxy Rooms (SU 2.602) for a lunch-and-learn focusing on Dental Hygiene.

2014 UT System Physical Activity Challenge to Begin May 1
Registration is now open for the 2014 UT System Physical Activity Challenge “Living Well, Moving Well” —an employee wellness competition between all system institutions that runs from May 1 to June 12, 2014.
During the six-week period, participants are challenged to complete the Living Well Health Platform Assessment and log 50,000 steps per week or the equivalent in physical activity. UT Dallas will be competing for the coveted UT System Physical Activity Challenge “Living Well, Moving Well” Traveling Trophy, and will kick off the challenge on May 1 at 10:00 a.m. with a 10-minute walk around the south mall, starting under the Trellis at the Plinth.

Employee Assistance Program Lunch-and-Learn on April 15

On Friday, February 7, groups throughout UT Dallas participated in the American Heart Association’s National Wear Red Day.
The Eugene McDermott Library staff wore red to display their support.
HR showed their Comet Pride while wearing red.
Student Services joined with UTD in wearing red.

Friday, February 7 is National Wear Red Day. Please help support the American Heart Association by wearing something red this coming Friday (hats, ties, socks, scarves, shirts/blouses, blazers, skirts, or pants.) Your Heart Health starts with YOU!
The Challenge Begins January 27
The 2014 10-Week Wellness Challenge, a team-based weight-loss and physical activity program, begins on January 27 with an indoor walk followed by a lunch-and-learn session. The walk begins on the first floor of the Administration Building at 11:30 a.m. This year’s lunch-and-learn will provide you with a healthy lunch and work-out inspiration from Bobby Whisnand, fitness professional and personal trainer.
To participate, please register online at livehealthynorthtexas.org using the code LHDUTD. Registration begins Monday, January 13, 2014. The challenge runs through April 4.
