Week Three
Congratulations on completing the first 2 weeks of our UT System Walktober Challenge.
Your challenge goal is to earn 20 leaves within the 31-day challenge. Remember,
any combination of red, orange, or gold leaves counts toward your goal. If you’re
just starting out, shoot for 20 red leaves; if you’re already active,
aim for orange or gold. The idea is to develop a consistent walking routine
you can stick to during Walktober and beyond.
Work together with your colleagues to win the Traveling Trophy for your
institution! Your institution is your team, so get together with your coworkers
and find ways to fit physical activity into your day. Take a walk at lunch,
meet up at the gym, encourage each other to get moving —and keep track
of what you do. See how your institution is doing on the Leaderboard
section under the Connections tab of the Walktober web site.

to enroll in the Naturally Slim weight loss program for free. Naturally Slim
is an online behavioral program designed help you change how you eat
instead of what you eat. It is not a diet. By learning new techniques
about how and when you should eat, you can continue eating your favorite foods
while improving your health, reducing your chance of developing serious,
chronic disease, and losing weight.

Registration Open for the Live Healthy North Texas 10-Week Wellness Challenge
Mark your calendars! The Live Healthy North Texas 10-Week Wellness Challenge
will begin January 25 and go through April 1. Registration is open online and faculty, staff and students are eligible to sign-up.
The challenge is conducted in teams of up to 10 people. To sign up online,
team captains should go to livehealthynorthtexas.org,
select “join today” and enter the Group ID:
LHDUTD to create a team and add team members. Team members
will then receive an email with a username and password to log in and
complete their profiles.
