Lieutenant Karl Zuber is the Commander of the Patrol Division. He and the officers in patrol provide police coverage to the university, 24 hours a day. Lt. Zuber began his career with the UT Dallas Police Department in June 2006. He started as a patrol officer, and was quickly promoted to the rank of Corporal. He also served as a patrol Sergeant and as an Investigator before being promoting to the position of Lieutenant.
In 2002, Lt. Zuber earned his Bachelor of Arts degree in Criminal Justice at UT Dallas. While a student, he interned with the UT Dallas Police Department. He also served as an advisor with the Explorer Program. Zuber is recognized as a Master Peace Officer with the Texas Commission on Law Enforcement, and holds an Instructor's License with the state of Texas. In 2017, he was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant. He is passionate about keeping the campus safe, and enjoys coaching younger officers in law enforcement.
